Animation all around! We are celebrating our tenth anniversary with a very special festival programme – and even after the celebration our motto will continue to be: “Animation rocks!“

Since 2001 we have been bringing animated films by women artists to Vienna from all over the world, highlighting all the rich facets of animation. To mark our anniversary this year we have put together Milestones of Animation, a one-of-a-kind selection of exceptional animated films from various decades. Look forward to seeing some very special gems of animation and absolute rarities!

Since there’s no good celebration without the right music we will also be featuring two music programmes this time – the music video programme Colliding Worlds, created in cooperation with the International Women’s Film Festival in Cologne/Dortmund, and Music&Dance, compiled and presented by Trilby Schreiber, our curator from New York.

Our publication Tricky Women – Women in Animation, which is fresh off the press, offers fascinating insights into the history of and current developments in animation.

Our anniversary year will certainly not be over with the festival. We will also continue our celebrations with Tricky Women programmes at the 2011 Diagonale in Graz, the International Women’s Film Festival in Dortmund, at the MQ, etc. etc.
